Mission:

Portugal Acessível (Accessible Portugal) website, which is a project of Associação Salvador*, aims to be Portugal’s reference guide on supplying information about physical accessibility in differente spaces, allowing interaction and experience exchange between people with motor disability. At the same time, it intends to be an awareness tool among public and private entities promoting the importance of accessibilities.

Goals:

• Supply reliable information concerning physical accessibility in different spaces in Portugal (acommodation, restaurants, culture & leisure, beaches, health services and other useful services). All spaces are subjected to an in loco inspection taken by a properly trained element of Associação Salvador.
• Allow exchange of ideas and experiences between people with physical disabilities.
• Raise the awareness of public and private entities towards the importance of accessibilities, alerting them of the dimension and potential of both Portuguese and foreign (potential tourists) people with physical disabilities and/or reduced mobility.

Ultimate goal:

Contribute to social integration and improved quality of life for people with physical disabilities and/or reduced mobility.
